On July 6, the 2026 Commencement and Degree Conferral Ceremony of Renmin University of China (Suzhou Campus) was held, as 450 RUC graduates, having reaped the fruits of their academic pursuits, set off toward their ideals and distant horizons.

Zhang Donggang, Secretary of CPC RUC Committee; Wang Xiaohu, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC RUC Committee and Vice President; Gao Yanyan, Deputy Secretary of CPC RUC Committee; and Wang Du, Consul General of France in Shanghai, attended the ceremony.

Zhang Donggang encouraged the graduates to carry forward the historical relay, and presented them with three "magic weapons": first, political foresight, integrating personal ideals into the great practice of building a strong country and national rejuvenation; second, seeking truth from facts, rooting oneself in the real China and the vibrant life of the people, bringing warmth to the digital age and ensuring that artificial intelligence serves the people; third, a global vision, serving as envoys of mutual learning among civilizations and bridges for peace and development, and contributing youthful strength to the building of a Community of Shared Future for Mankind.

Wang Du, Consul General of France in Shanghai, extended his congratulations to the graduates and highly praised the significance of the Sino-French Institute, Renmin University of China, as a benchmark for Sino-French cooperation in higher education. He expressed hope that the graduates would leverage their cross-cultural communication strengths to continue building bridges for mutual understanding and exchange between China and France, as well as China and Europe.

Anne Fraïsse, President of Université de Montpellier Paul-Valéry, and Guillaume Fiquet, Vice President of Sorbonne University, delivered remarks respectively. Fraïsse affirmed the outstanding performance of the students during their studies, looked forward to welcoming those who would pursue master's degrees in France, and encouraged the graduates to serve as bridges for mutual learning and exchange between Chinese and French civilizations. Fiquet noted that the two universities have, over the past decade and more, jointly cultivated a large number of outstanding graduates. He expressed his anticipation for the students who would soon pursue further study in Paris, and urged all graduates to bravely shoulder the mission of the times and deepen mutual learning between the two countries' civilizations.
